Dua Lipa - Studio 2054 (with Kylie, Miley & more)

I hope these livestreams continue! Significantly cheaper than an actual concert, less of a time commitment, and makes it easy to see artists that aren't popular where you live

Obviously that's a huge success in and of itself if true, but interesting that it hasn't made any impact on iTunes. I wonder if it has on streaming?

Oh I think they deffo will, now it's being proved that people WILL pay for live streams on-demand.

I could see bespoke livestream performances like this replacing some CONCERT RECORDINGS eventually.
Easier for everybody involved, a much more controlled environment, ability to RESHOOT with ease, essentially a way to print cash if successful...

@lolly In the UK, Levitating, her current hit, has less daily streams than a week ago. In the US, it has more, but its growing right now anyway.

Presumably, most of the people who would pay for this are already buying/streaming the music anyway.

Yes, I've seen some GRIPING journalists bemoaning THE LIVE MUSIC EXPERIENCE, but for pop acts I think this is probably better.

And if Dua did pull those numbers, hopefully we'll see decent budgets as well.

I guess post-corona, there are still going to be people AT HOME on a Friday night, and as @RJN says - not everybody even LIVES near where people tour.

I think people will still watch live streams in a post-corona world, and they could become really quite a lucrative new strand of revenue for artists and the music industry.
I guess the past-equivalent was hoping ITV or the BBC would toss somebody a random TV special, but now there's infrastructure emerging for these sorts of events you really don't need a broadcaster onboard any more.

If it really sold 5 million tickets at a tenner each and cost at max a couple of million to produce the that is some SERIOUS profit.

the album outside of the singles already had strong streaming numbers and I expect that to continue even if individual songs didn't get big boosts. I think the next material she drops will do well too, especially if it's that twigs collab that sounded stupid good.

75m Future Nostalgia
1.2b Don't Start Now
57m Cool
397m Physical
86m Levitating
60m Pretty Please
113m Hallucinate
53m Love Again
505m Break My Heart
43m Good In Bed
36m Boys Will Be Boys

95m Levitating ft. DaBaby
36m Fever ft. Angele

I mean, Queen. Fever is doing so impressively.

I do not believe 5m tickets were sold though :D maybe that's TOTAL VIEWS and it's like 1m tickets. and even that seems quite unbelievable to me. It was heavily marketed I guess, and cheap.
