Anyway I woke up this morning and decided it was going to be a Badu kind of day.

Although Baduizm is probably in my all
time favourite albums I accept she probably has made better records since.

What’s the @funky opinuon?

It depends on my mood for the best Badu album but I’d probably go with Worldwide Underground. Mama’s Gun is a critics fave but I never really had a moment or an experience with it. I just inherited the songs after becoming a Badu loon. I should revisit objectively at some point.

That all being said, “Didn’t Cha Know” remains one of the greatest neo soul songs of all time. And the live version is next level.

A very consistent album but you have to be in the mood as it’s long and dense with very little variety, but the production, vocals, lyrics are all typically Badu-amazing.
