So far I've only been to Zakynthos & Rhodes & never to the mainland.

I've thought about trying SKIATHOS in the next year or 2, but I'm also wondering if there's some lesser known islands worth adding to the list, or anywhere to avoid. Santorini looks nice, but seems to be ludicrously overcrowded.
 
I would recommend Alonissos, which is part of the same island group as Skiathos (Sporades), it's about 4 hours by ferry from the port of Volos and it has absolutely amazingly beautiful beaches, it's rather quiet and contained and I was extremely impressed when I visited last year.
 
Having recently binged What We Do In The Shadows, I'd be quite tempted to take a pilgrimage to Antipaxos to sample all the CHEAP CRAP and OLD FISH. :disco:

From the Sporades archipelago, i'd pick Skyros (50 minutes flight from ATH). And also if anyone visits Volos I highly recommend a detour in Pelion.
 
I've been to Rhodes (I was 6 and broke my arm), Kos and Corfu (was 17 and 18 respectively and they were frightful chavvy drinking holidays).

We looked at Crete for honeymoon but ultimately just couldn't find anywhere that quite ticked out boxes. Santorini is top of my list for a holibobs one year, but think it needs to be when Little Tisch is grown up as it doesn't strike me as a place for kids particularly.
 
I loved Skiathos but I'm a plane geek so spent far too much time at the airport (walking distance from the main town)

I haven't been to any of Greece since the late 80s/early 90s with my folks. We did Kos, Rhodes, Zaakythos - all the package holiday hot spots. Do really need to go back.
 
I did Santorini and Mykonos years ago. I absolutely loved Mykonos but I think it's got a lot busier and more touristy now so I'm not sure I'd like it as much.

I really want to do kefalonia
 
Heading to Crete on Friday for 9 days and quite excited by the prospect of seeing Easter (Greek Edition) in person.
 
I've only been to a little island near Athens. I'm off to Rhodes and a few nearby islands this summer so I'm looking forward to that.

Agia Pelagia - basically I’ll settle in a beach-side flat, take it easy, go running, swimming, work out, eat and get a tan :disco:

Going to Santorini in late September/early October if anyone has any recs for food, excursions, activities or places to avoid etc. :disco:
 
I went to Mykonos last year and then got the ferry over to Andros which is apparently the greenest of the greek islands and was great for hiking. Loved it, so I'd include Andros. :disco:

Back to Crete this year.
 
@Marina Salty we might need your Greek Islands Top 5. :disco: I like the idea of the Ionian or North Aegean islands at some point. The famous Cyclades islands are a bit lower on my list tbf.

P.s. it is SO tranquil and calm here. You can tell it’s still barely even shoulder season. Water is 16-17 degrees but it’s what I’m used to anyways and just a few people scattered across the bays.

Maybe you'd like to check out Paxos in the Ionian and Lemnos or Chios in the North Aegean (I like both but maybe a tiny bit more Chios for its medieval villages). But if you can work remotely and spend many days away maybe it's worth renting a car and do the round of the Peloponnese on your own, choosing your own stops sightseeings and airbnbs on the way, the variety of scenery and vibes is immense.
