I'm only really tangentially aware of them - Favourite was gorgeous and a fave that summer. but I skipped their set at Primavera Sound 25.

IS THIS GOOD? I like the album title + art

I'm a bit tangential with them too, but I've really, really liked some of their songs. This is another one that has grabbed me. The wonderful James Ford has produced it too. He's sooo good.

They aren't the most melodious of bands, but there's something about them.

I'm into this, the last part is especially epic. They've moved quite a way from where they started - I remember the response on here to their last album was mixed. Marianne can't help but bring to mind Depeche Mode - and there is the James Ford connection too (I must give his new album a listen, I like what I've heard so far).

yes Marianne is fab.

I listened to 7 songs of the James Ford album (I wasn't aware he had his own project!). I'm assuming he recovered from the cancer? a lot of the lyrics sound like they pertain to that. the production and songwriting are strong but his voice is not the most engaging.

Quite remarkable that he wrote and recorded the album in two weeks from his hospital room. There are some beautiful songs on there.
