Friday blows the whistle

I’m thinking UK for some reason. Maybe Wales. Or Scotland. Not Airbnb though. They come in at night and rifle through your purse and sundries

Have you been to Scotland before? I love highland Scotland, but you can’t come here without spending the day in Edinburgh and Glasgow.

I have only been to Cardiff in Wales which I did enjoy. I found it quite SMALL for the capital.

I’ve actually never been to Scotland, which is ridiculous. It does quite appeal. Not if there are lots of flies though. My sister went camping in Scotland once and there were lots of flies and she fell over. It was all very tragic :(

Oh God YES TO IRELAND, although again I’ve never been

ENYA :disco:

NICE THICK COCKS :disco:

The MAJESTY AND GRANDEUR OF THE LANDSCAPE :disco:

The west coast is RIDDLED with midgies. Maybe not so bad at this time of year, but Summer is pretty disgusting in parts. My Grandad used to get an old pair of my Nana’s tights and pull them over his head when he worked in parts of Western Scotland back in the day. Worked a treat apparently.

I think it might have to be Ireland :disco:

*stays in bed with a bottle of cognac pretending to be in a Fassbinder film instead*

Why go to Blackpool though, when you have the ALLURE and SOPHISTICATION of Morecambe just along the coast?

:D Oh love I’ve BEEN THERE. It was when Jade Goody was on BB and I got involved in (well, STARTED) a furious row about her in the pub. Loved all the exquisite boutiques and the Teddy Boys parading up and down the prom though :disco:

I see with excitement that Donegal isn’t THAT far from Northern Ireland and the splendour of fabulously mangled vowels :disco:

Actually, on the way to Morecambe we got chatting to some people on the train and they (quite rightly, given the horror which lay ahead) said, “Why the fuck are you going THERE?”

Why DID you move?

I moved away from Ireland when I was 16. So, 30 years ago ( how did that happen?). I hated it as although it is beautiful, it was extremely backwards. I grew up living above a pub but all my extended family lived up the glen in a small cottage on a farm. 9 of them in a 2 bedroom cottage. My Mum is from a family of 12 and only 3 of them actually left the family home and spread their wings. I did NOT want to end up like them, as much as I love them. My gran and my Aunties and uncles STILL live in the same house (only 5 of them now, 6 including my gran)although it has been massively renovated and they now don’t all share rooms.

Morecombe has amazing views. Look out to the lake district but whatever you do DON’T LOOK BACK.
Stopped off there a few months ago did not feel safe. Grim

My family are from Donegal too. My dad's side is from Buncrana. My grandfather grew up there, but I only found out this year he was actually born in Scotland - his parents moved over to the UK, he was born here and then they moved back as a relative died and they took over the farm, which the family still own. Sadly this means that I am not eligible for an Irish passport. :(

My mother's side are from Donegal Town and a village called Ramelton.
