Friday has a 'flu jab

Had my flu jab and was given a bonus Covid booster even though I'm not technically entitled to it. The nurse overrode the rules because "you have asthma, you have your flu jab every year so if anybody should get a free Covid booster, you should.".

Got them both in the same arm, she said I might regret that choice tomorrow.

I had a tough ride booking mine - got the letter mid-September, the first date I could get was 2nd November! I get flu and Covid vaccines too.

I had a tough ride booking mine - got the letter mid-September, the first date I could get was 2nd November! I get flu and Covid vaccines too.

During the last round of Covid boosters I never managed to get an appointment and the walk-in place was in the big shopping centre in town. I refused to go to the walk-in because I'd have to pay for parking and park on the multi-storey (which I hate because the spaces are tiny).

This was really just for the flu jab but I think they got a supply of Covid in too so they could save the old bodgers coming in twice.

I had both a couple of weeks ago, had booked the Covid booster after receiving texts and emails offering it, then got offered the flu jab for free at the same time.

I had them in different arms, got a sore arm from the Covid booster (have each time, and that's the extent of the side effects fortunately) but my flu jab arm was completely fine. Is that usual, is a sore arm a Covid special? It's the first time I've had a flu jab to my knowledge.

Flu jab gives me a really sore arm for a few days afterwards, Covid sore arm is not nearly as bad usually.

It woke me up several times in the night when I tried to turn onto that side.

To be fair I'm still recovering from a stinking cold earlier in the week so my sufferings are probably just from that. My arm hurtiness seems to be fading a bit as the day goes on but I will continue to languish on the sofa with the furry blanket just to make sure.
