Heated Rivalry S01E5 (spoilers within OF COURSE)

I know the horse has bolted on s1 episode threads - because cruel bastard moopy was too slow in granting our fallen captain Suedehead's wish of a Heated Rivalry forum - but I'm still watching anew so I'll crack on with these for the last two.

I just finished 5 and WHAT AN EPISODE. Probably the best one yet? And there wasn't even any onscreen bumming. Just all beautifully written and done.

My highlights:
- The final date between Shane and Rose. The way this didn't play out like basically any other show (or the soaps we grew up watching) would do it, and how it was all the better for it. Kind, clever, funny. Rose transforming from a just-about-believable film star to another series MVP.
- "Tell me everything that's on your mind but say it in Russian."

- The accident and concussed Hollander
- And then the ending made me cry with joy. I knew it was coming coz every gay with a social media account has posted it in the last 5 weeks, but still so good.

It's a joy seeing @Finn fall for this show episode by episode!

E5 really did push all my emotional buttons & I'm normally the sort of person who watches this sort of thing STONY FACED. Excellent acting from Connor in the phone call scene, he deserves some awards recognition for sure. All the more impressive considering he's actually from Texas with no prior experience of speaking Russian.

It was this episode that really turned me into being a big HR fan. I'd only started watching it for a bit of STEAMY FUN, but this was a fantastic episode of television without any sex scenes.

I was very meh about the first three episodes at first. I enjoyed episode 4, but it really came together perfectly in episode 5. And 6 totally won me over then.

The soundtrack for this show does a lot of heavy lifting as well, perfect song choices.
