I really liked this a few years back, even more than OL' BELINDA'S premier hit "Heaven Is A Place On Earth." It's kind of sat around on my iPod since then but it popped up again on shuffle today and by JOVE is it good. Right down to the OBLIGATORY guitar solo.

Such a lush hook and I do think she has a great voice, it's especially good for this sugary pop stuff.

I do have her album FUR on my iTunes that I downloaded when I discovered this song but have yet to listen to it. Any other highlights on that album?

I don't think Jane has anything half as good as Rush Hour, but she had an album called Kissproof World that was a minor artistic success of sorts. Nothing that has the same kind of swoon-inducing sweetness, but worth checking out if you're interested. Last I heard about her was some dreadful comedy song about gays that pissed me right off even if she was having a right laugh herself. Oh, and trying to upstage Belinda by dying her hair blonde for the Go Gos getting a Hollywood star (and looking like a right dick in the process).
 
I'm not sure I can rate this. It's obviously a 10 AND a zero at the SAME TIME.
 
I've always been rather fond - who wouldn't, with its sugary sweet lyrics and pristine 80s production (if that's your bag of course).

I've got (all?) 4 of her solo albums and they're varying degrees of just about alright. Nothing amazing but with some nice tunes tucked away amongst most of them. Fur is my favourite and was clearly the one that had a ton of money thrown at it. I doubt it paid off commercially but it's a nice little example of that mid-80s synth sound. "Inside A Dream" is the other standout - the bookend ballads "The End Of Love" and "Whatever It Takes" aren't bad at all and there's slightly spikier stuff too.

I have to say though, her voice is weak as utter piss - no wonder Belinda (clearly no Maria Callas herself) hogged the limelight in the Go-Gos. Fur covers it up quite well but the other 3 albums are generally far less successful. On more than a few occasions it sounds really rather ghastly.
 
A definite 10/10 moment.

I loved this (as much as any of Belinda's stuff). The album 'Fur' was enjoyable too, second single 'Inside A Dream' was very good too. I can't recall the name of any other tracks.

There's a lot of filler on Fur but One Heart, One Way, Give! and The End Of Love are my favourites. Tangled is a much stronger album, a perfect companion piece for Voice Of The Beehive's Honey Lingers.

I have Kissproof World but never really fell in love with it after a couple of listens.
 
I just rediscovered this, what an amazing song, it so should have been a bigger hit.

My sole memory, unfortunately, is of watching the video in a flat in the west end with about 5 other people at 2am with everyone absolutely smashed. One chap went "oh aye, nae breests" (i.e. 'breasts, with an exaggerated Scottish accent) and the immediate opprobrium from everyone somehow turned into an improvised folk song called "Nae Priests". Ah, alcohol.
