Scored an out of print Wire album for £8 yesterday and one of the tracks is called "Jumping Mint". It is somehow both amazing and terrible.

Scored an out of print Wire album for £8 yesterday and one of the tracks is called "Jumping Mint". It is somehow both amazing and terrible.

I wore the hell out of their first 3 albums. I didn’t realize they were still at it.

It wasn't till years after the fact that I realised just how OUTRAGEOUSLY Elastica ripped off a bunch of Wire songs for their first album.

I'm trying to find their mid-80s to early 90s reunion albums at the minute. They're all O/P and in contractual hell but I've done well in the last month, finding The Drill, Manscape and A Bell Is A Cup Until It's Struck. The current version of the band doesn't have Bruce Gilbert which is a shame but they're still better than 90% of bands on their second reunion.

Everything they did was pinched. Elastic was basically what happens when people with free time, resources and good taste are given a record deal.
