I am up to the inflatable boat and really don't think I can take it much longer. How was this even made and how on earth is it making money beyond signalling to parents "we'll give you 2 hours of relaxation if you bring the kids to this"?

I loved all the JP movies even when they weren’t as good as the originals, but this one just left me cold. They had a chance to reset from all the silliness of the second trilogy and I think that was the intention, but they’ve completely lost any reference to what made the original such a classic. It felt like a b movie creature feature with Hollywood stars and effects. Scarlet looked bored silly. The whole thing was very odd.

I would loved to have given it at least a 5 (a pass mark), but it was just so frustrating to watch the most laborious chase sequences and there was absolutely zero fun to be had in a script so eye-rolling the writers must have been forced into dumbing down after numerous re-write requests.
