In celebration of the launch of #KP5 we’re going all the way back to 2017 to reassess Katy Perry’s most DIVISIVE album of her career. For this album she ditched Dr Luke but kept Max Martin and also branched out to work with Purity Ring, Joe Goddard and Duke Dumont among others. SOME SAY the results were MIXED. It definitely houses some of her lowest lows ever but also some high highs. There were also new haircuts, on camera breakdowns and gifs.

Absolute trash but those three singles are in my Katy Perry top 5.
 
Also how on earth did Bon Appetit rack up 900 million plus views on youtube? I cant remember it ever being that BIG as brilliant as I think it is
 
Never bought the album, but I agree these are three of her best singles. The production on Bon Appetit is excellent.

It's a generous 5 from me - I can't rate the individual tracks as I listened three times max and they were all a blur of total turgid dated rubbish so instead let's just go:

Weird that the album is so rubbish, really, because as an ERA it was highly enjoyable - great singles run, two great videos (plus Swish Swish), she easily scaled new heights as a performer. It was an enjoyable time to be a fan, as long as you didn't mind pretending she just dropped a killer 3-track EP.

It's just a basic transposition of 10-0 into a Eurovision format. (so 12=10/10, 10=9/10 etc.) I've never understood why it winds you up SO MUCH.

Because you can’t have a 12/10. People give two songs from the same year 12s and THAT’S UPSETTING.

I confess I’d never actually thought of it your way, though...
 
But with individual polls I've never thought of it as comparing with everything else from the same year. It's just your standard classic song/album poll with a little Eurovision twist.

You've definitely been over-thinking it :D

The singles are mostly good and I love "Tsunami" but on the whole it is a very tepid affair. But let's face it she's never been an albums artist. Teenage Dream and Prism had plenty to enjoy but still a lot of filler.

Never bothered listening to it, but what I did hear was rubbish.

However the three singles are ridiculously enjoyable and she went batshit and looked a fucking STATE so it’s a thumbs up from me.

It's a fairly dull album but it's not like any of them are stellar. Roulette however is incredible, why oh why she never released this I don't know. Chained was such a brilliant start too, Roulette would have been the best bet to keep momentum going. It's the only track I really go back to.

I know the follow-ups are beloved on here but they always felt too novelty for me and as engrossing as it was to watch the desperation in the campaign take all kinds of turns, I don't think either track did her any favours.
 
Several songs from this have severely crept up on my lately, namely:

Witness
Deja Vu
Miss You More
Bigger Than Me :disco:
Pendulum

which makes at least EIGHT good songs! QUEEN!
 
I can’t rate it all now, but there were EIGHT keepers for the iPod
The singles, Roulette, Hey Hey Hey, Bigger than me, Pendulum, Into me you see

the chorus of Bigger than me really reminds me of something, I feel like it might be a slowed down version of a Eurovision banger
