Londoners I need your help

I've lived in London for nearly 18 years and the Southbank is still the place where I FEEL I'm in London, maybe it's the river, maybe it's the skyline, I don't know. But that's London to me. It helps that many places I enjoy are around that area: Southbank Centre, the BFI, the Tate Modern, Pleasuredrome...
Yes, I love it. However many times we go to London, we always end up down there. The view really is perfect, it's busy, but not necessarily clueless tourist busy and everything is on tap. And yes all those venues, plus there's a rare Tesco across the bridge, which makes drinking down there cheap :)

How about staying in Chiswick @Rachey
It’s got nice restaurants and a least one very nice wine bar. You’ve got Gails and a Waitrose which is a bonus. Plus Kew Gardens isn’t far !

A bit of googling suggests Charlotte St in Fitztrovia may be a good place to start. Don't think I've knowingly ever been there. I do enjoy discovering corners of London I've never been to before.
It is nice around there. Sorry I'm no use for recommending cafe type places though!

Yes that's right! Well you're right in the thick of it there, but if you want slightly quieter places you can head over towards Camden Road station. Or Primrose Hill the other way.

Oh I like Kew Gardens. Thanks for the suggestion!

@Rachey

I'm always partial to a drink/ bit of food on the southbank. You can always do a boat trip down the Thames from round there as well.
My brother always tells me to try southbank actually, thank you.

Have you thought about ABBA Voyage Rachey? That's something that could appeal to both of you?
Mandy and I are doing that, Mandy would kill me if I went without her :D we need hotel areas for that as well.

You could try Snoozebox, literally right next to the Abba Arena. We've always come back the same night, but a lot of Abba fans like it, because they have an after party every evening.

Oh amazing thank you!
