Feeling quite smug that a couple of the digital clocks in my house were still an hour behind, so I didn't have to change them yesterday. I'm such a progressive thinker.

I only have one clock I need to change and it's an alarm clock that's been on the go for 30 years, maybe more...I pinched it off my dad when he emigrated (which is 18 years ago now) and he'd had it ages.

Octy where did your Dad move to? Do you travel to see each other? I only ask as sometimes I miss my Mum terribly although we FaceTime every day, but still really miss her after about 30 years of living away from home.

He went to Canada. For love and marriage, bless him. I've been a couple of times and he's come over here too. I've got used to it but yeah, I miss him. But I would have hated for him to think he couldn't have done it because of us, if you know what I mean. There's a genuine joy in seeing him live his best life and we speak on the phone every week or two.

Parts of Canada are really beautiful, but not at this time of year. My cousin lives in Winnipeg and had been snowed in already this year. Well, I say snowed in, it doesn’t put them up nor down really. That is beautiful that your Dad found happiness once again after your Mum passed.

Morning Moopy.

I'm in a world of misery and anxiety and general horribleness after a ridiculous weekend of birthday celebrating. Time to get off the booze for a bit I think.

Fuck me, no wonder fuck all's been happening while I've been in the other office. Come in at 9, gossip until 9:45, do half an hour and then OFF FOR COFFEE :manson:

It really is a magical thing. I'd have hated for him to be lonely. Plus, there's no way Mum would have wanted that for him. It was two years after she died before he started dating again, that's appropriate.

This bloke stuck up the chimney in Carlisle. WTF. And will he come down alive?

Bonkers, he's been upside down all day, no doubt fucking freezing. Can you survive that?

I read there was NO SIGN OF LIFE. I wouldn't think being UPSIDE DOWN that long would be VERY GOOD FOR YOU

Neither how nor why yet. One tweet that he had an Extinction Rebellion banner but that could be bollocks.

So I have a new house cleaner. She is a semi retired lady called Vera, and seems lovely. She has worked as a school cleaner all her life, and now is happy to keep my domestic life in tact. Only time will tell I suppose.

Judging by the weight I would say not. However the legwear makes me think again.

Could it have been Santa getting some practice in?

Do we know how he got up there in the first place?

He climbed the ladder according to the newspaper. Surprised it was still there as I remember whenever a chimney was decommissioned when I was a kid the first thing they did was removed the bottom 10 feet or so of the ladder and put a metal apron on so not-rights couldn't climb up them without their own big ladder and even bigger bollocks. I reckon he must have been drunk, drugged up or just mental, nobody in their right mind climbs a mill chimney bare-chested at 1am on a freezing October night, not even Fred Dibnah (RIP).

Did you have to bin your friend off after what happened?

I couldn't deal with having a cleaner come in my house, I'd have to clean up before they came in case they thought I was a filthy minger. :D

I'd love a cleaner but my horticultural hobby prevents it.

Yes. I have noticed she has stolen shoes, make up, money, and a load of other things. I was willing to let it go as it is all material stuff, and would much rather know how much trouble she was in and was really willing to help. It’s a real shame, as I thought of her as a close friend but it seems she was just out for what she could get. Oh well, I’m over it now.

I am pretty tidy as it is, but unfortunately my kids aren’t and I am usually so busy, that it can be hard to keep on top of. Having someone I can trust to make sure things are ticking over on the home front is a major stress lifted.
