Interesting! I don't think thats the case here, and handshakes are the norm. I don't mind them at all when its not a pandemic. It kind of does sound like a NYC/LA thingone of my UK v US findings when I worked a lot in America was the general increase in OCD around touching and embracing. Might have just been a NYC/LA thing, where people tend to be a bit more neurotic generally
It got to the point in our NYC office where I wouldn’t greet with a handshake any more, because I had encountered several people who were like, oh I don’t do that sorry. It was WEIRD at first. But this was years before covid. Clearly they were on to something...
I wonder if they'll ever fully come back or if COVID was the end of it being expected.
