More details incoming ... about an hour after this the ambulance was still outside his flat and I saw the lady from one of the flats opposite come across and start a mother's meeting with my next-door neighbour and next-door-but-one neighbour. Obviously the lure of juicy gossip was too much for me so I went out and joined them. It would appear that epileptic neighbour had a fit, came round from it and pressed his alarm thing but didn't answer when the carer called, he then removed his alarm, put his coat on and went out for a walk. Apparently the alarm has a locator on it so when the carer didn't get a response they assumed the worst as it was still showing as being in the flat hence the fire engine to gain entry and the ambulance. I also found out what my next-door neighbours were arguing about in their kitchen just after I arrived home. Needless to say it was all the husband's fault.
