From the groovy side of town, Nokko must have been off her knockers and on a right bender to bump into the guys from Saint Etieene. "Call me nightlife" she screamed, pushing the boys out the way to get a closer look at Sarah Cracknell's feather boa. The rest was history, Nokko had talked them into giving her two tracks in exchange for a shot of her GameBoy.
Little did she know that 1 of them was a cover. She was fizzing! Needless to say she's been a sworn ambassador of Pepsi ever since.
Luckily everyone knows everyone in Japan. Deee-Lite's studio auteur Towa Tei wasn't falling for the old "call me Nightlife" line, but did give her I Will Catch You, which was more Cathy Dennis than Lady Kier anyway. Nokko was so obsessed with Friends a whole 2 years before it was filmed that she insisted filming her own music video there before being jailed for sexually harassing window cleaners.
Like her career, the album soon falls off a cliff dance music wise, with the brand new lightweight Oh Yeah possibly being the best of the rest and also serves as a clue as to why Nokko issued Heather Small with a restraining order.
Nokko still functions and recently responded to a local ad asking for help with an elaborate Spice Girls related music video. Hopefully one day she'll also be in front of the camera again.
