£7.30 for a bottle of beer before the theatre

Palladium prices were the worst I ever saw. I rarely buy drinks at the theatre but seem to remember an £8 pint before a comedy gig.

I've just got a working smart meter for the first time since inflation exploded. I was surprised to see just how fucking expensive energy was. I know this isn't a shock to anyone but a FIVER A DAY?

Obviously it's stopped working within an hour of getting it and I can bury my head in the sand about it all again, and recklessly buy tickets for frankly anything, without thinking about it.

We moved into a house with one and I put it in a drawer about a week later.

Life is far too short to be caring about how much the toaster costs to run

Our energy costs are significantly less than a fiver a day, but I turned our meter off after a few weeks, and that was prior to fuel costs going through the roof. I started becoming obsessed and anxious about everything very quickly.

I figure while we're in a position to be able to afford it, it just costs what it costs. It's not like we have the heating on all day, leave lights on, or run the washing machine or dishwasher half empty.

I was most shocked to discover that Poundbakery pasties and cakes are now £1 each instead of 2 for £1.

I just paid FOUR QUID for a tin of CORNED BEEF

Admittedly it was in Co-op so I expected to pay a little more, but I had a hankering for corned beef hash and couldn't be bothered going any further.
