My interweb banking's gone mental with all the extra authentication guff. Logged in and it sent me a passcode to my phone on a text message that I had to enter to complete my log in. Went into the payments section to pay my council tax which has had the same bank details and reference number for fifteen years and it made me dig out the stupid machine that they sent six months ago, stick my debit card in it, enter the card's PIN then press OK, type in a 8-digit number from the site then press OK again then type the 7-digit number from the machine back into the banking site. Then it made me do it all again to pay my credit card. Utterly ridiculous, these payees were set up years ago and I pay them every month, I'd understand and expect it if I was setting up a new payee. Hopefully it was a first-time-only thing and I won't have to do it all again next month.
