Richard Franklin DEAD

Can't say I've heard of him personally, but apparently was in Doctor Who for a few years in the early 70s, so may be of interest to some.

Franklin was best known for playing Captain Mike Yates in the BBC sci-fi series.

Apparently he also stood in elections for the Lib Dems, Referendum Party, UKIP, and founded something called the Silent Majority Party, which I assume was pretty ghastly.

Ah... terrible politics, but a popular character in his time and was in the show longer than most companions as a UNIT character through the early 70s.

Were there not rumours about him being a bit inappropriate with teenaged fans back in the eighties, or am I mixing him up with someone else?
