This album turned 3 years old this week.

Seems to be widely considered her best work to date, but did she kiss your playlist better or was it same ol', same ol' mistakes?

00 Consideration ft. SZA
00 James Joint

00 Yeah, I Said It
00 Same Ol' Mistakes
00 Never Ending

00 Higher
00 Close to You

00 Sex With Me

i had completely lost interest in her at this point.
kiss it better is still one of the best things she's done and work is a classic, but apart from that i didn't care about any of it.

sidebar: needed me is one of the most overrated songs of the last few years.

I hoenstly cannot remember Never ending and I don't have time to revisit it right now. I'm still pissed Sex With Me was just a bonus

Individually it doesn't have that many songs I go back to a lot but those 3 highlights are seriously brilliant, all Rihanna classics, and I appreciate her pushing her ARTISTRY :disco:

It so isn't her best - that's "Rated R", and don't get me started on leaving the best songs OFF it...

agreed, though i did quite like gggb back in the day.

sidebar: i heard diamonds the other day and it took me a moment to recognise the song and then remember it was hers. still great, shame it feels strangely forgotten. around these parts anyway.

A bit patchy but a solid notch above Unapologetic which has some downright trash on it. I like it overall.

08 Consideration ft. SZA
07 James Joint - is this a proper song? pleasant though

^^ Meant to add that the James Blake Mix of "Sex with Me" is a 10 make no mistake

"You know I got the sauce
You know I'm SAUCE-AYYYYY
And it's always WET
A bitch never ever had to use lip gloss on it" *EDM meltdown*

It's absolutely DISGUSTING but so good :D

WHERE IS SHE?

Anyway, this whole era was absolute botch but one that SOMEONE had to make so that the wider industry could get some kind of hold on how the digital/streaming/buzz-and-grat-tracks market was going to function.

Work influenced Stefflon Don's Hurtin' Me and for that reason alone I love it.

And Anti is a fantastic album.

I've entered into a deep Rihanna phase and I think it's gonna last a while. I think she's basically the best popstar in the world - essentially (and apologies for the ridiculous and unnecessary comparison) the Madonna of this century. Phenomenal back catalogue, an aura of superstar utterly unparalleled. I made an essential Rihanna playlist, max tracks only, and it contains 45 songs. She's untouchable. (I've had a lot of wine.) I think she has a Ray of Light moment in her future, a body of work that will completely and unquestionably establish her as the most essential artist of our time. Fuck.
