Would Pam Ann count as a bio queen eligible for Drag Race? They may as well just try it, but I would want it done with almost no fanfare as I'm always of the belief that this show should just let the queens do their thing and that these are the last people who need contrived edits.

It's interesting to see how the BBC deal has meant the world has permeated the mainstream- my parents were talking about it today (admittedly, after my cajoling) and their 75 year old very straight male friend from across the road turned up and joined in, saying how much he was loving it (he's just up to the Cheryl Cole episode) and it was a breath of fresh air, and then went on to talk about how much he was loving Pose as well

I've been watching it for a second time each week at my mother's on a Sunday, and my 15 year old niece is often there as well. It actually led to a discussion where my niece was schooling my mother on gender identity. It was pretty much blowing my mother's mind, but at least she was open to it - and I was slightly agog that my niece was talking about it from such a place of knowledge and in such a matter of fact way. And she's grown up with my brother as her father, who is pretty much the definition of an reconstructed man.

If you think of drag as specifically female impersonation this might not do much for you, but as far as performance and make-up skill goes Landon Cider's Drag Race audition tapes (which he kept sending despite knowing kings weren't wanted) are up there with anything seen on the show itself, for me at least:

I watched with the sound off thinking I wouldn't mind watching her Janette Krankie properly until I realised.
I'm definitely here for separate Kings editions, and in many ways it could be a welcome kick up the backside for the original series.

She’s back!
So the tour has started and reviews are saying that Scaredy is AWFUL and just stands there and lip syncs the song she released. Gothy also apparently wasn't much cop but the rest were all very good. Baga and The Vivienne got the biggest reactions.
I saw it last night. Gothy gave it a good go but Skardey really phoned it in and fulfilled the bare minimum of her contractual obligations. She lip synced to her OWN SONG, when nearly every other queen sang live. Or if they didn’t, like Blu or Cheryl, put on quite the show. My only other criticism was that Vinegar was quite obviously on coke. Crystal stole the show with a full on angle grinder and rope aerobatics set.

I don’t necessarily think they should have an “all kings” series ... if only because in my experience they’d all be FAR TOO NICE to each other. I think they should throw a king in the mix on one of the regular seasons just to stir things up a bit.
I think it’s a misnomer to suggest that drag queens equals gown and king equals suit. I’d rather see an artsy drag king with a strong aesthetic on Drag Race than a queen with basic fashion sense.
