It feels very like Season 1 with an obvious two horse race and Jonbers in the Cheryl role.

But a loss less fun.

[Raining on Me]

I was happy with either Danny or Cheddar and they feel equal now after Danny's awful snatch game. Cheddar had one fun joke in the roast about Ru sitting very very still which tickled me, otherwise it was laborious and even if stand up isn't her thing it's surprising if she didn't forsee that. Maybe she did and didn't feel the need to fake it.

I'm probably leaning more towards Danny now as that stand up was pretty flawless and most of Cheddar's wins have been strong rather than flat out amazing. Cheddar wins on runways but Danny is still second even there. There really is no competition for these two.

I don't agree Cheddar is part of the problem with the series, yes she doesn't fit the mold but I'm happy they've at least allowed her to try and she's got through on her own merits even if she has had to...adapt. Don't get me started on Joe Black who I agree was similar but didn't deserve to go home either time. They just didn't like him. That windswept fish and chips look is still iconic (well it is for me). Cheddar not portraying herself as the same copy and paste drag race queen is actually refreshing even if I agree she is sort of hard work. I do really like her though, there's nothing snidey as if she thinks she's above it all, I imagine she is struggling a little knowing she's so different. However...she is definitely not someone I need in large doses

It's not like better queens have gone to make way for her, either? You could blame Peppa for that (well not Peppa directly) and a large part to losing Le Fil/Baby/Dakota/Sminty way too early.

I do miss the roughness of the start of the season with all those ropey queens. That always makes the UK one sag a bit when they leave.

I’m not sure Cheddar has adapted all that much - I mean in the roast, HOW many times did she tell everyone how dry she was and how basically she was going to bring the momentum to a halt with her wry intelligent humour? How about… don’t do that and tell some jokes?

The closest parallel I can think of is with Sasha Velour - sure she could be a bit worthy and cerebral to a fault, but she still could pull out some crowd-pleasing jokes. I just hope Cheddar can pull out some ridiculous game-changing stunt in a lipsync too then. I suspect she will just stalk around with black contacts, clawing towards the judges

Cheddar had a good intro though and could easily have repeated it in another way ("oops, wrong card again" etc). It just needed more jokes or absurdity, which she obviously knows how to do - it was the other agenda she has going on as an (admittedly slightly out of date) activist that she was determined to go with as a priority over the actual challenge.

I agree with Diddy on the Sasha comparison.

And on a sidebar: Cheddar has been reminding me a bit of that Prometheus film and I had absolutely no idea there was a sequel.
