Was listening to the 2009 album earlier in the evening and it’s insane how well this one still holds up today. It could have been a contender in 2025-26, it could have even won now. The staging is phenomenal too. I don’t think SDF would have challenged Rybak in ESC, but a top 3-5 would have been a lock that year.

Also 18 year old Pen absolutely fantasised about the universe where Fredrik Kempe wrote tracks for Rihanna and this was her lethally effective basic bitch comeback after the Chris Brown incident.

At the very least she needs a better dress, and those hankie-waving dancers have to GO. The Podium really worked for me, the shot of her gazing over the entire stadium like a chubby Swedish Valkyrie was amazing. But the bit where it cut to the backing singers while they strapped her in was awkward city.

One other thing about the podium though. She should have ended on top. The way it went up and then just went down again during the climax looked a bit silly. Like she was recreating a screen grab from Super Mario Brothers or something.
