Saturday: The Return

I’ve had a terrible week but it’s 19 degrees and sunny here today, and maybe some time outside will be nice

Had a productive day planned today but we ended up staying up til 4am on THE WINE and I’ve been in bed all day.

My niece shat out another baby thing last night.

I hope all the present buying results in one of the little shits taking me in or sticking me in a decent care home when the time comes.

Third one for the same niece?

It would've been my dad's birthday today, three years since the last time I saw him (which is an awful memory to have because he was really upset and aggressive). For the last two years I've sorted my head out and spent the day with mum to take her mind off it but it's been difficult to deal with today for some reason and I couldn't even get dressed until 2pm. Anyway I went round to mum's and we both had a cry and made each other feel better.

Eighteen years since my Dad's death next month, and grief still affects me entirely unpredictability.

I think as you get older you appreciate how elastic time is. But nothing underlines it as much as grief and loss.

There's a fair chance you'll be a great great uncle before you die I reckon.
Well I'd imagine so. Even if I only live to 70, the eldest two will be in their mid/late 20s.

Anyway @Star, when I was visiting the new great niece today, my nephew was there. We were talking about going to London (as I'm taking my oldest great niece to see Matilda next month), and he remembered meeting you. He actually mentioned it. I'd totally forgotten I'd taken him to London. Apparently we saw Wicked together?

Yes!! I have a photo of us on the London Eye together somewhere I'm sure. We were eating in a restaurant somewhere and I remember the waitress thinking he was our son :disco:
