Bridge Over Troubled Water, The Boxer and The Only Living Boy In New York are transcendent, three of the greatest songs ever written

And it STILL might only be their second best album, behind Bookends. So grateful I got to see them in concert in 2009 (one of the last full shows they ever performed, according to Setlist.fm)

Love it. Sometimes it hits the spot like nothing else.

I'm not sure if it's their best album (and would need to listen to them all again to make my my mind up how I'm feeling today), but by virtue of the breadth of folk rock bangers on it, it has to be right up there.

While I accept that it's arguably one of the lesser songs on it, the build of Keep The Customer Satisfied is utterly fucking exhilarating. That's how you do a two and a half minute pop song. Relentless.

I’m going to put this on in a bit. I don’t think I’ve ever listened to it as a complete album, which is kind of ridiculous. They were one of those acts that, for whatever reason, were just not part of my childhood. They weren’t played at home. I’ve learnt to love them myself from discovering them track by track over the years and just coming to understand their importance and massive success in the late 60s.

I've just put it on now to accompany a walk. The weather isn't quite autumnal enough for it to be the perfect fit, but it's by no means disappointing.
