Well I don't dislike Pretending per se, but I certainly also don't get it

As her label said in their statement a few weeks ago, she was an icon of liberation.

All the little sound effects in this and how they're used as ASIDES is just amazing

I like how Immaterial really sounds like letting go/breaking free (in a good way) after the buildup of everything before it

I remember dancing to this on one of the first nights out I had with @ZenGiraffe and never feeling happier

Whole New World is giving me feels I can't quite work out and I love it for that. Almost anxious, like I've done something wrong. :D But there's still something quite lovely about it.

Yes! I feel like so much of the album has this curious TENSION, like it's constantly walking an emotional tightrope.

I looked into your eyes
I thought that I could see a whole new world

Those vocals are giving me early 2000s vibes

This is a bit anxiety provoking, I agree

The whole album is a VERY INTENSE listen, the remix album I actually find quite relaxing in comparison.

She plays with the Pretend World sort of vibes a bit on the remix album, particularly on the second disc... there's quite a lot of spooky ambient stuff.

I remember @Zu-Klara talking about Pretend World and asking "wait why am I WEEPING", and I can see where he's coming from!

I'm not going to lie and say that I loved it, but I certainly liked it more than the first time I listened. I think its an album that deserves more plays and I think I will. I do see why some people (here and some people I know in real life) connect with it so deeply.

Thank you @COB

Here's my favourite Cecile Believe solo song, which I think any fans of Caroline Polachek's recent stuff may enjoy:

It is a tricky album. I'd say it's more influential than necessarily brilliant.

Knowing there was more to come really made her death so super tragic.

I made it to song 6, quite an achievement. Not really a fan but all my respect for her.

Cecile used to be known as Mozart's Sister, and there's this quite lovely song that I could only describe as Kate Bush meets Petite Meller:

This remix is by Kane West AKA Gus from Kero Kero Bonito, who you might remember from my hyperMOOP night!
