Have I left it too late to get my daffodil bulbs in? It should be okay if we've not had a frost yet, I'd have thought.

Not too late yet. Get out there and get them planted. The BBC says plant them October to December before the first frost.
 
Woke up at 3am wondering if the US election results had been called yet...remembered that they had, went back to sleep.

I put some in over a month ago, and thought I'd leave it a while to plant the others, but then just forgot them until I found them again yesterday.

I like to think it will mean they will be staggered in flowering next spring, but im not sure if that's true or not.

Yes they should be! That's why it's better to plant them in batches. I tried a bulb lasagne yesterday (Google it). I hope it works
