But realistically, a far better indicator of success for The Brits is surely how many views and shares performances got on YouTube and social media, rather than regular TV audiences.

I watched live on youtube - before it started it said 100k were watching so I guess that increased. was that available in the UK? or only internationally?

Apparently it was on ITV's YouTube channel in the UK. That certainly does count towards viewing figures, although I don't know if it's captured in the overnight data.

Sorry moopy, I don't understand why some of you enjoyed it so much. Outside of Harry Styles and Rosalía, it felt like any other recent Brits show to me.

I didn't like the ballad arrangement of Husband at all.

I watched the performances, which I mainly enjoyed, and not much else on fast forward. Styles was more lively than I expected and I had forgotten how much I liked the Wolf Alice song. The sombr staged invasion was an odd moment despite the lovely glittery backdrop. My recording cut off the Robbie Ozzy tribute - I did not seek it out.

My interest had very much flagged by that point, and I figured it wouldn't have improved my opinion of the overall show.

I need to see Wolf Alice live after the Brits! I’ve never actually seen them perform before … she’s a hell of a frontwoman. They don’t get a lot of mainstream coverage though. She needs a couple of celebrity scandals and maybe upset a few people on Twitter and they could be REALLY BIG!

Ellie Roswell's brilliant. I do wish I liked Wolf Alice more than I do. It's the same with Chvrches and Lauren Mayberry because she's obviously an absolute legend but I just cannot get into that band at all.
