THURSDAY Et al.

I had half a Budvar and slept appallingly, although I don't think these things are related.

I also had an edible. Not that it helps with hangovers.

I'd like to propose the construction of a new layer in hell just for PORCH PIRATES.

Good morning

Yes, they go there and there are lots of porches with unattended parcels but every parcel they pinch turns into a fiery box of dogshit which explodes all over them when they take it.

I have this parcel box outside my front door and it’s been a godsend as now I don’t have to worry at all about being at home when a package is due. It was expensive but so worth it.

Look familiar, anyone?

We have a shared porch and most of the time our post doesn't fit in the small letter boxes so parcels get left in the porch and regularly a neighbour will bring it up and leave it outside our front door :disco:

Moopy at what point is it ok to ask a neighbour to turn his music down? He's about 68 years old and going deaf and he has music on ALL DAY LONG sometimes. We can often hear it clearly in our kitchen and living room, but i'm also aware the sound proofing is shocking so i don't want to complain if its not really that loud and i'm just hormonal and grumpy. Because apart from his music, he's the perfect neighbour. I just get very irritated hearing other peoples music.

Theres a Wetherspoons on Cardiff docks with amazing views. Also, Slave lives there, Cardiff not Wetherspoons.

Yes, and there are another 10 or so establishments with views over the bay, and more crucially aren't Wetherspoons.

I am not even vaguely ashamed of liking some Wetherspoons. They're cheap, I'm poor, and if i can get a gin & tonic for £3 in Wetherspoons, or the same gin & tonic for £9 in another pub, I will happily choose the cheap option.

I'd personally choose to spend an extra couple of quid to spend that time in a more pleasant environment. It's not only the drink you're paying for.

well in my defence, I generally only go to a Wetherspoons on the island and the atmosphere is usually very friendly, and I know the staff and get good service. And if I only have a small budget, i want to get the most for my money. I begrudge paying £9 for 1 drink.

However, when I eventually move to Cowes I wont have easy access to a Wetherspoons and will be forced to spend £9+ for a drink, so will probably end up drinking at home.

The one thing I will applaud Wetherspoons for is their reservation and conservation of historic buildings. And i also appreciate they are handy in these days of no public toilets.

I wouldn't drink in one if drinks were £1, though.

Wetherspoons is also ethically fucking appalling. You're giving money to that disgusting cunt who got rid of all his staff during Covid, spent all of his money promoting Brexit, is a massive contributor to the squeezing of pricing in independent pubs ETC ETC...

My local (as in across the road) is doing £4.50 pints before 7, including GUINNESS.

Thats me getting fat this winter.

The same neighbour that you've asked this very question about before? 😂

I'll never forget the time floppet told us about her incestuous neighbors.

I'm sure they had a lovely porch.

I was just thinking about that yesterday! MASTERFUL storytelling :disco:
I've done lots of long-winded posts in the distant past but people seemed to get fed up of them (it came up a few times on Moopyrate) so I stopped. You've got to play to your audience if you don't want to be booted off the stage.

I enjoyed not only the post, but lulling us all into a false sense of security before by insisting it WASN'T THAT INTERESTING REALLY :D

I thought I had but couldn't remember :D

What was the response 🤔

He turned it down for about 3 months and now this loud again 😭
