It's EERILY quiet here. The wind has dropped to 8mph, which is the lowest it's been for AGES here (I follow the wind speed for swimming purposes). It really IS the calm before the storm.

And there's a flood warning on the River Avon now, about 30m from my house. The bank is quite high on our side, but if I was on the other bank I'd be properly worried. I've seen the river burst its bank only once in the 20 years I've lived here.
