Thursday wakes up to war

Good morning :(

I’ve been awake AGES because all the news alerts woke me up, but WOE IS ME, I don’t live in a country at WAR (yet :eyes:)

First thought upon waking. "Bollocks, snow! And I've got to haul my arse out to bloody Clydebank. GAH!"

Read the news.

"Oh".

I don't know how anyone can drive faster than 60 with slush on the motorway. There's a bit on the M74 that already feels like Wave Race 74 as is.

Well there I was lying in bed daydreaming about what my wedding to Tim Key will be like, when my radio alarm goes off and Lauren Laverne says "TIM! You're doing a show at Soho Theatre at the moment, is that linked to the book" etc

So that was a nice few minutes before I saw the news

I also randomly thought about "Flawless" by The Ones and then it came on the RadMac show I'm now listening back to :o

Going to buy some lottery tickets now (and wish sudden death on Putin)

Got to work this morning, phones and internet weren't working so I pulled the plug and left it a few minutes, plugged it back in, no joy. Around this time the boss arrived so I told her and she said "oh I had a text from Virgin to say they were working on the network so it'd all be off from 9am". I said I didn't think we were on Virgin at the office but she insisted we were so I just shut my gob and faffed around on my phone, couldn't do any work because our software is cloud-based and refused to hotspot from my mobile data because I only have 1Gb a month. At half past ten her niece came in and confirmed that we aren't on Virgin so everything was working again after we discovered I'd pulled out the wrong plug :D

I'm having gin. After having to moan at my staff for leaving the staff kitchen in a shit state. And for not understanding how stock rotation works.

Clearly dates are too hard for people to read.

As I was heading into the office after my hospital appointment, there was a scary looking bloke about to head up the same steps. I paused as he drained his bottle of Buckfast which he then abandoned, empty on the steps. He then dashed up them and, as I followed him, I realised he was heading towards the Job Centre for an appointment. Sure enough, he turned the corner and went in. Dutch courage is one thing but...y'know, come on.

Was it @Queen of the Bay ?

I was surprised today with the news someone would be shadowing me at work for a few hours. And to make it more fun, he mentioned God at least 10 times

Not thinking about anybody in particular here (:)) but I do think that an INABILITY TO BE WRONG really is the worst kind of personality flaw :)
You can just say his name, Putin won’t care

I'm just back from a concert by someone called Dave. Not a clue who he is. Although I wasn't going to see him anyway ... I was working on one of the bars. I'm picking up shifts to both keep me busy and also earn extra money as I save for my boat :disco:

You work at the same place as me? :disco:

Unless there's more than one Dave who gave a concert tonight. I've still got my main full time job .... just picking up a few shifts through an agency at places like the Arena.

Yeah I work there too, through the arena as opposed to agency.

Also not war-related but I’m going to spend all day with my ex who is devoted to his partner (who sound like a leechy prick) but sometimes does a sex with me (because he’s not getting it at home)

Good idea I’m sure
