If it's any consolation, I'm trying to wrestle with rewriting some Turkmen to English legal contracts that have been done by a non-native speaker, because there just aren't any English mother tongue Turkmen translators out there.

Find someone who speaks a third intermediate language to establish a link. And if that doesn't work just add another language.

Problem solved.

Adding another round of price and time to the project, before you even consider losing the nuance from the source language by translating into another relay language...and also the fact that if you're not going to find an English native Turkmen speaker available, you're going to struggle to find a, say, French/ German/ Spanish.

It doesn't work like that. Basically the meaning behind the translation is correct, but it needs to be rendered in better, more naturalised English.

I mean, It's indeed a possibility that my solution could lead to a legal contract being translated into a recipe for GOULASH, but hey!
