It's not them being there, it's them NOT GIVING A SHIT ABOUT DISTANCING! As I said the other day... LUMBERING REALLY CLOSE past people breathing heavily right in everyone's faces with their mouths open!

I'm hoping to get back to running myself soon, but I will make sure to observe the fucking rules when I do.

B&Q etc are open for stuff to keep your house from falling down and that's it (I think)

There has been a run on seeds everywhere and I'm STILL waiting on compost to get my spuds in.
 
I tried to go to B&Q for light bulbs at the weekend but they said they were only open for click and collect orders. I haven't been back yet. I figure that I can just drink in the dark.

It expends loads of energy to criss cross when you're running and fuck all to do it when you're walking. When I was out running the other day, there were SO MANY people walking who just didn't give a fuck about moving out of my way. The people walking can do it a lot easier.
 
Morrisons had loads of compost the other day. Most big supermarkets will, I imagine.
 
Lidl had lots of compost as well. Not sure what type, although I imagine they only stock standard compost.

Well I'm finding the opposite here - walkers doing their very best to observe the 2m and runners JUST NOT. Even if they're not able to, would it KILL THEM to close their mouth or turn their head away for ONE SECOND instead of WHEEZING into people's faces?

Oh I don't disagree and I'm sure there's people who are cunts- especially those who probably are jogging for the first time because of all of this, but my experience is that the walkers are VERY MUCH up to similar, if not worse, nonsense.
 
Running was the one thing in PE I was reasonably good at. That and sitting in the corner of the rugby pitch making daisy chains with my friend Justin :disco:
 
Most big supermarkets have compost at the moment, otherwise Wilko online are doing deliveries
 
We've just been for a perhaps entirely unnecessary trip to Sainsburys to buy a fuck ton of deli nibbles for a film evening. They're his choices so I'll be here.

I'm finding that runners are being really conscious about running off the footpath when they pass people. A lot of walkers however - mostly MEN it must be said - are strolling around on their phones and don't bother to even attempt to make space.

Meanwhile, a driver beeped me off the road two days ago when I was making space for a family on the footpath, despite having two lanes and no oncoming traffic.

Some people really are at the worst during all of this. Thankfully most people are being really good about it.

@Sheena re the earlier discussion. I was looking at the actual coronavirus regulations earlier, and the 'reasonable excuses' to leave the house state

(a)to obtain basic necessities, including food and medical supplies for those in the same household (including any pets or animals in the household) or for vulnerable persons and supplies for the essential upkeep, maintenance and functioning of the household, or the household of a vulnerable person

Not really sure how compost and plants are essential upkeep or maintenance, but I guess if they are sold in the same shops as food or essential items, then fair enough.
 
I think my aisles would be roped off anyway by the sound of it. Annoyed as I kept meaning to pick up paint ready for this business and just didn’t get around to it.
 
Are all shops complying fully with it, though? If Lidl and other supermarkets are selling compost when they don't have to, couldn't other places who would legitimately be open anyway still sell other items they don't need to?

I mean obviously I'm not questioning the reasons behind it, but today I've bought plants from Lidl and a birthday card from Co-op, when I would have bought of them from an independent garden centre and card shop, had I been able to, both small businesses who will be really struggling as a result of this, and on some level that does feel crazy.

I think it’s far easier for Lidl and Asda to just carry on as normal.
