I pay a lovely lady that does it for a LIVING. Surely you must have lots of them around your way?

Nah fuck that. He should have been pulled up for that. That's not fair.One of the older girls had been chosen as flag bearer. Halfway through the march as they paused, another pushy parent took the flag and bucket from the girl and gave it to his son. He then let his son carry it throughout the service up front while he shoved his way to the front to take pictures. Then on the march back his son didn't want to carry it so he took it and dragged it along the floor on the way back.
I was fuming. If it had been my unit I would have told him to do one
Before we start, I let parents take a photo of their child posing with one of the flags. Then we choose a flag bearer for each section for church and a different one for the act of remembrance at the local war memorial (which has a bigger crowd than church.)
We have to parade between the 2 and any child who wants to hold the flag gets a go on the march.
I've only ever had 1 dickhead parent. They messaged me the night before, telling me I HAD to let little Lulu be flag bearer because they had already told them they could do it.
