A delightful oddity this. Kim Basinger and Ozzy Osbourne on 'random 90s celebrity generator' vocal duty. Top 5 in 1992.

I had no idea until I wiki'd this that there was an earlier recording featuring a pre-fame Madonna.

I'm a little saddened that the Madonna version appears to reveal that it wasn't actually Kim Basinger doing that deep voiced 'LET'S GO TO BED' at the end of the chorus. I've long considered it the greatest performance of her career.

Helen Terry researched for a Madonna doco and said the Vadge version was much better than Kim.

Kim has a great voice, her Prince produced album is up on yt.

I love the one night a year when I remember this song exists.

LET'S GO TO BED!

I fucking love this song. It's so random in terms of vocalists. I just need to remember to play it some time.

IT's OK but it's no "Hello Dad, I'm In Jail".

For some reason, it always annoyed me that the ever more demented "Say hi to Mom, from jail" bit didn't end with a swear word. I don't think 15 year old me would have done a now well known, "Say hay to Mom from jail, BITCH", but, that's the kind of VIBE I was DIGGING :disco:
