WHSmith high street I’m sure died on their arse a long time ago, so literally only their profits can be from footfall stations. There are only so many people gagging for a discount Frozen DVDs and mismatched wrapping paper?

I was in WHSmith in Bath earlier. They have completely got rid of DVDs (music having gone a couple of years ago), and expanded their book section. In fact it's actually genuinely quite nice - it felt like a proper book shop, rather than just a shop which happens to sell books.

Though in a WORLD where smoking is currently BANNED, that is probably a black market rate. Almost.

Maybe I was tainted by the Southend version, but I do miss a good hardback to read. The amount of hours I trawled through the Exeter one looking for the right book.

WHSmith was always cards, wrapping paper and shit (and for those old enough had a WOOL section).
