The local election results in Wigan are not promising. Labour lost 22 seats. Reform gained every seat going.

I think he'd walk this usually, but a big chunk of votes are going to be shaved off by the Greens.

It'll be Andy. If he can't win that seat on a "I'm your popular local mayor! Do you want Keir Starmer as PM y/n" line then 1. the question answers itself, and 2. well, Labour is basically completely fucked. But he really ought to be able to win that seat on that line. And the perception of him as the person who can take on Reform and win would basically make him unassailable in the leadership contest after.
