Zara Larsson- Crush + Midnight Sun (Sept 26)

Eurosummer is a 6/10 at best, it leans into a kind of trashy fun, but maybe that’s the point of the album and I’m just missing the intended aesthetic. Not that Midnight Summer is exactly highbrow pop, but it’s easily the least amateur-sounding track on the album.

It makes sense to wait while she has 3 hot charting songs I guess. There would be a risk any new track might not chart under the 3 track limit In the UK at least. Not that she is apparently bothered by chart positions but the label will be.

I’ll assume the lead will come in May? By that point the two (current) singles I imagine will be on the slide.

Looks like the new edition for the album is out next Friday with a new ten tracks alongside the current, according to a Spotify ad on my app.

They’ve turned that around quick. Hopefully the lead can continue the momentum she has.

Oh, so is it maybe not a new album, but the same ten tracks again with female features?

Fine by me, though seems to rip off Pink Pantheress a bit wholesale if so :D

Didn’t CharliXcx do it too? Not that I have a problem with it

I didn't listen but apparently the Shakira eurosummer leaked and it's shit. nobody seems to like it :eyes:

Oh Pink Pantheress on the title track is good. It’s still holding/gaining across the US etc, so if it gets a boost in a fortnight it might well get some better peaks. Even though it’s done great already.

Eurosummer for the next single please :disco:

The Tyla duet enters at #40 this week giving Zara 10% of the top forty. Had you said that this time last year it would’ve been a gay fever dream :D

I think every song I heard I prefer the original of :D it feels like all the fun has been sucked out!

But as a chart slut, assuming all versions are merged, this should see the title track get some fabulous new peaks this week.

Quite good numbers for her. Midnight Summer reaches a new peak on Global, US and UK Spotify

#27 on UK Spotify and #106, combined #5. Assuming they combine them it should launch into the top ten this week.

New peaks for the single and album in both NZ and Australia.

Assume the single should be top ten in a couple of hours here, too, and a bunch of new peaks over the weekend.

So I saw Zara live last Sunday, and she completely blew me away. The charisma, the energy, the incredible vocal control, all there. 10/10 performance.

Even with just an hour-long slot in a festival, she came across like a fully realized pop star. Shame about some of the source material, though; songs like “Crush” and “Pretty Ugly” absolutely come alive in a festival setting when thousands of gays are screaming those terrible choruses back at her. God bless her.

and in other news :disco:
