Suomi ranks the Buffy Seasons

I know it wasn't the first to do stand-alone episodes you IDIOT, that's why I cited Hush & Restless as EXAMPLES of what I meant

It was CAMPY SHIT

Hush and Restless were the first episodes that really took influence from other genres outside horror

Season Four I just find really forgettable. Adam and Riley were both so BLAND. The bitch teacher who created Adam was killed off far too soon, at least she had SOME potential to be interesting.

Only episode I remember really loving (Haven't watched the whole series in YEARS) is the first one(?) with Buffy's annoying roomate. That last shot of Buffy glaring at Willow is much LOL. Also the girl who plays the roomie is very good and seems to pop up randomly in EVERYTHING.

I might actually start watching series five RIGHT NOW. The mid section of Buffy is certainly where my fanboydom is weakest, I followed it at the time, but haven't rewatched it at all as opposed to the first three and last two series. I foolishly lump them together as a bit fillerish because Adam and Glory were kinda 'one season' villains as opposed to the likes of Spike and Drusilla who recurred.

Why do I ALWAYS think Drusilla lasted two seasons as a main character? I think it's cos I see season two as very much a split between Drusilla as the invalid, and then Spike in the Wheelchair.

"After leaving at the end of Season 2, Drusilla only appeared in two Season 5 episodes and two Season 7 ones. Only one episode saw an actual return for Drusilla ('Crush'); all other appearances were flashbacks or apparitions."

I still need to buy the Angel series. As I said earlier, I've hardly seen ANY of it past the point where Fred joined as a full time cast member.

i was about to type that Lou...the first two seasons of Angel are most certainly the best

NOW THIS IS NOT BECAUSE I'M SOME KIND OF RACIST

But from what I remember Gunn was a REALLY boring character.

Let's face it VoR, you were never going to like him no matter how interesting it was

You were probably the only person rooting for David Palmer to get assassinated in 24 as well

I don't watch 24 so I don't know what that means.

Well i'm watching Buffy vs Dracula now.

Can someone fill me in on what the situ was at the end of series four? I can't really remember at all....

Was it just Buffy still with Riley, Adam destroyed, no major repurcussions?

Yep, i mean a sign of how WEAK season 4 was is that the ending with Adam waasn't even the last episode! Season 4 ends with "Restless" , a series of dreams which prophesise the future of Buffy

I see. I don't really remember the dream sequences.

Ugh, Dracula is really quite RIDICULOUS.

I do remember that dream episode. Running around in the desert and all that.

Riley buggered off for some SPESHUL mission stuff in Southern America, right? Terribly YAWNSOME.

Thumbs up for completely putting the show to something vaguely close to an all time high season afterwards tho. Season 5 was bloody amazing. Plus I really like Dawn, don't ask me why.

UM Restless is one of the best things EVER - the fact that Adam was destroyed in the previous episode doesn't mean anything

And ACTUALLY, Adam did appear in Restless

OMG I'd forgotten ALL about Cordelia's ditzy blonde friend who turns into a vampire!

I LOVE her!

HARMONY

she becomes a regular in Angel, the last series. She and Angel are the ONLY two people to have appeared in the FIRST episode of Buffy and then the last episode of Angel

You are going from best to worst? WHO DOES THAT?

Oh I'm once again drifting into Loon-ness. I think I'll re-watch Buffy once i get through Angel. Currently I'm near the end of Season 4 Angel. Gunn is DULL AS. Actually they are all pretty rubbish. Lorne is just depressing as it's obvious he is meant to be fabulous or something. Cordy is the only good thing at the moment, and I'm reasonably sure something bad is going to happen to her :( Was she up the stick or something? DONT TELL ME IF SHE LEAVES.

Anyway .. what was my point?

I think Lou means drama/humour as in funny HA HA drama. Rather than dark evil HA HA. Which is about right. As soon as Dawn first appeared, that element of humour was gone. Buffy became far too sensible and grew up.

WEIRDO.

Buffy that is. Not YOU Suomi.

Who do we think is the best actor on the show? I do think Sarah Michelle Gellar was GREAT and had the most to do, but now that I've started watching it again, I'm realising how GREAT Alyson Hannigan is. Why she's stuck in shite like Date Movie now is a crime of Lisa Kudrow proportions.
