Another ten for me. Maybe a 9.5 if that was allowed. She really was on FIRE at this point in her career. This and ROL are my top two albums of hers for sure.

Something always BUGS me about "Music". I do agree she was on fire at this point and could do no wrong... but it's just missing that SOMETHING. Maybe it's because the title track isn't actually one of her best, as iconic as it is. Maybe there's just too much experimental electronica on there. Some of it feels a little unnecessary.

I like the fact that some songs have grown on me more over time though. "Paradise" and "Gone" particularly.

I have never understood why people love Paradise and dislike Nobody's Perfect, for me they were the 2 instant album standouts for me

Anyway, this is definitely my favourite Madonna album I think, maybe a tie with The First Album, even though as an album it sits horribly together, incredibly disjointed. Oddly enough I don't really like any of the singles, they would probably be my 3 least faves on the album, with perhaps Amazing coming just before Don't Tell Me

"What It Feels Like For A Girl" and "Amazing" (UGH) render it inferior to Ray Of Light for me. Plus we'd already heard Paradise by the time it was released which led to a feeling of being somewhat shortchanged.

Having said that, I absolutely love "Nobody's Perfect" (all time Madge Top 10 for me) and the really quite moving "Gone".

I love it. The vocoder is used perfectly to create that sense of longing and regret. Plus it was amazing in Drowned World.

It's aged badly for me but its high point remains SO good that it pulls the album up overall to an 8...

Another 8. I find it easier to listen to than 'Ray Of Light' on the whole but most of the tracks are just good as opposed to exceptional. 'Don't Tell Me' is one of my favourite things she's ever done.

Absolutely! I didn't even know "Nobody's Perfect" was so disliked in the Madonna camp. I always play that and "Paradise" together. They're like inseparable brothers.

Well this is my favourite Madonna album ever...although bear in mind I've only heard the last four. Creative and fun without being vapid like "Confessions...", but also some reflective moments without being worthy and pretentious.

I feel like this is her most underplayed album from me, which is odd because it's such an easy listen and is my favorite album of hers from the 2000s.

When you tire of the "Vogue"s and "Holiday"s of her catalog, "What It Feels Like..." and "Don't Tell Me" REALLY hit the spot

Jark is full on INSANITY mode there though. "Amazing" is DROSS. Of course people care it's a carbon copy of something else - especially when it's something that seems to have been copied TWENTY FIVE TIMES on a TWENTY YEAR OLD machine.
