Nah, they've just bought it over and will continue as per. Me and Kate are just TAKING THE PISS.

So, does this mean that Spuggie's friend is going to get paid now?

I really want Habitat to go into MEGA SALE already, they have this ridiculous shower curtain with a map of the world on that a strangely REALLY WANT but I refuse to pay £22.00 with a measly 20% off for it (£18).

Bring on the EIGHTY PER CENT and then we will be talking.

HARDLY.

I went into Habitat on Friday. Oh how I wished I had some £££ at the moment. It was a shambolic bargain FRENZY.

I'm pleased by the opportunity to pop in there when I stop at Tesco on my way home from work.

I got a nice suit from Next and I quite like some of their homewear too.

I got my last funeral jacket from them about 4 years ago. Since then, I don't think I've bought anything other than a couple of sparkly Christmas decorations.

Last time I went trouser shopping Next were the only place where they fit me. Even Dorothy Perkins let me down. :(

I didn't realise they did a FAT ARSE collection as well as a petite range.

Star, that's your evening reception outfit sorted.

In the past couple of weeks, the following have gone into administration:

Peacock
Past Time (550 jobs lost)
La Senza (has been acquired)
Blacks (has been acquired)

I like Peacock, it's cheap and ALL RIGHT/better than Primark. I hope it's acquired and carries on much the same...

I didn't realise Peacocks was still going. I'm not even sure if we have one here. It's a wonder Past Times has been struggling on as long as it has been. Overpriced retro shite.

Past Times and Peacocks a both reasonable sized loses to the British High St.

I always found I could get the REAL THING CHEAPER than at Past Times. And Peacocks I NEVER ENTERED. I don't need another FLANNEL TRACKSUIT.

Past Times already went bust a few years ago, didn't it? I think it was bought by someone else, but who's going to bother this time...

There used to be one on Buchanan St in Glasgow that I never ever saw ANYONE go in or out of

I've never been into a Past Times. What did they sell? The stores looked horrendous. Peacocks always looked grim too.

Quite surprised Blacks was struggling so badly, but I suppose people aren't spunking money on the most expensive sports wear and equipment at the moment.

To be honest I'm surprised Peacock didn't go sooner - for some reason I've been under the impression it's been on the edge for years. Apparently the problem at the moment isn't so much trading figures which are OK (though weren't great over Xmas), but the high interest rates they're paying on massive loans.

Saddened that Peacocks' range of Joey Essex-inspired range of UGGs-for-men never reversed their dwindling fortunes :(

Past Times was all FAUX VICTORIANA and ART DECO TAT, with a few war time songs CDs, crappy garden items and tat jewellery mixed in, pretty much. The last time I went in it also had pretty much ANYTHING you could stick a 'KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON' (or a HILARIOUS VARIATION THEREOF) logo on.

FUCK OFF

Amazed it lasted SO LONG REALLY.

Now HOW is WHSmith still going? They must have good management. Either that or the OVER PRICED RAILWAY STATION SHOPS are raking it in...

HOW has KEEP CALM and CARRY ON caught on? Is it some sort of BLITZ SPIRIT ITEM against the TERROR that is the recession?

A friend used to work in Smiths' head office a couple of years back and from what he says it seems the management is quite ruthless, which probably helps

So Past Times was basically a museum shop without a museum attached? What's the point

It is LITERALLY EVERYWHERE. It would OK if it was on a REALLY TINY NICHE SCALE.

It's like Xtina's Beautiful in PLAQUE FORM for middle aged women.

I KNOW RIGHT.

You can tell they've all but given up though. The shops are so shabby looking. I'll never forget when I bought something and was presented with one of those BLUE CARRIER BAGS you get from Indian takeaways.
