I had a big revival of this tune recently on the iPod and I might actually love it more now than I did then :o

There's something I do miss about K-Ro over a simplistic R&B beat, even if Guetta-Kelly has a better strike rate, they don't make songs like this anymore.

I like it. Considering how overplayed it was it never annoyed me, and it has a nice summery vibe.

She looked so pretty in the video too.

Guetta-Kelly has a good strike rate? Didn't they do like two (shit) songs together?

I meant Guetta-Kelly as in GENERIC DANCE Kelly. And both Guetta songs are tremendous, ACTUALLY. How can you call yourself a fan of K-Ro and not be massively fond of "When Love Takes Over"

The mind BOGGLES

It's great, and yes it totally SHOULD be bloody annoying given how massive it was and how much it got played on the radio and music channels, but I think it's got one of those choruses that is so simply CHARMING that you can't even entertain the notion of being annoyed by it, no matter how many times you might hear it

Of course I'm a fan of When Love Takes Over! I assumed you were talking about HER material though, not HIS. Commander seemed like some kind of GAY MOMENT at the time but who were we kidding? It was badly produced SHIT. And then there was that follow up track whose name eludes me which may or may not have been a Guetta song but which was definitely a big fat turd.

I dunno, I've gone right off this bitch. Musically she LOST IT after Work (FREEMASONS) and she revealed herself to be a spiteful cunt on X Factor.

I liked it at the time and oh what a HIT it was, but I find it annoying due to being overplayed and when I listen it isn't THAT great. I find it a bit plodding and lazy

7/10

I love Forever & a Day (the followup to Commander). It's quite different for Guetta and has a lovely summery vibe. It was killed by an attempt to turn it into an on-air on-sale hit. I'm sure it would have at least gone top 20 otherwise.

Commander remains flawless you utter waste of sperm!

What was the "ahh" sample? I was always convinced it was Annie Lennox from "No More I Love Yous"

There are other songs that use it as well - I'm not sure it's an actual sample. I looked into it for one of my countdowns and apparently there was a circulation of various vocal/beat loops to producers years and years ago and that is one of the ones that was used quite frequently. It apparently ceased to be issued a few years ago, but it's still used now

That Annie sample is used in Nicki Minaj's "Your Love", not sure about this though

Commander and Forever And A Day remain BRILLIANT. FOOL. Dance Kelly may have put her name to a few turds, but she has a far better strike rate there than with the R&B stuff.

As for this, I don't really care for it all. It's not offensively bad, it's just kind of THERE - a bit bland and nothingy.
