It's one song I just DO NOT GET. She had far better material later in her career (and much much worse). It's not bad, but even in 1993 I was entirely non plussed.

For some reason the video is at the very least hiding on youtube...

GABRIELLE TOP 10

1 Give Me A Little More Time
2 Sunshine
3 Dreams
4 Rise
5 Forget About The World
6 Going Nowhere
7 Should I Stay?
8 Walk On By
9 If You Ever
10 Out of Reach

Oh I HATE Sunshine. Horrible song. Even it's use in Nighty Night can't save it.

Should I Stay (Life Support Machine Edit) is where I'm at with Gabrielle.

I think Sunshine is a lovely little song. Just the right side of MOR. She crossed the line with When A Woman and Don't Need The Sun To Shine (To Make Me Smile), however.

I'm getting Gabrielle Sunshine songs mixed up.

They were both however shit.

Gabrielle really was mostly useless - but her high profile meant that they could pay for great remixers

My favourite Gabrielle mix is THIS UTTER BEAUTY

Gabrielle, for all her success, is, like Eternal, an oddly forgotten relic of the 90s. Could you imagine James Arthur wheeling out a Gabs classic tonight on XF, however well a acousto-dubstep overhaul of Rise might work.

Oooh I've never heard that Matt Darey mix before... I remember the super on trend garage remix, back in the cold months at the turn of the millenium... Seeing as I'd just discovered pills, I'd have loved this shit.

It's fabulous. The fact that it's built around the best line of the entire song ("I know that it's over... but I can't believe with you") makes it even better.

Love it. Like most of 1993 I connect it to happy memories (along with Ace of Base and others)

Never really liked it very much though I don't hate it. I loved Going Nowhere AT THE TIME but these days it's all about Rise and Give Me A Little More Time, plus a few of the lesser ballads too.

1991-1993 was the absolute PEAK of pop music as far as I'm concerned

so many great memories. Of which this is one.

the line is "but I can't believe we're through" - but your mishearing is a better lyric!

I remember the look on Mary J Blige's face after Gabrielle did an acapella on the Jo Whiley TV show via a VT, she looked so unimpressed. I love Give Me Just A Little More Time, Should I Stay is also great, and a few remixes here and there (Going Nowhere had a couple of good ones), but she's a bit PATCHY for me.

*cue someone posting the screencap from Mary looking onto the Madonna/Britney/Xtina threesome*

Quite like "Dreams", though as far as her slowies/midtempos go it's of course all about "Should I Stay" (love the life support machine description :D) and to a lesser extent "Stay the Same", which I find really underrated.

The bootleg Dreams/Fast Car mash-up that was floating around clubs (again) a few years ago was quite enjoyable

Please ignore 2012 Ag, what an ignorant pigcunt.

She's been dropping weekly old singles with complete remix packages and she's arrived at the Dreams Remix EP

My gay spidey senses are immediately drawn to the Law's House Mix.

I was already familiar with the Developed Arrested Mix which is also passable.

What a package. Had no idea Gabs was such a dance diva. The 90s dance compilations definitely missed a trick.

Seems I'm very forgetful. I'd like to forget giving it a 7 and also the terrible eye patch joke.

Should I Stay? and Out of Reach are the ones for me. The Former especially is lesser known and such a gem, i find them both quite touching tracks.
