Some pretty boy just did a really nice version of this on BGT and Simon pressed the SPESHUL button.

Just wondering if Robyn will re-chart as a result...

This is he:

I didn't hate it.

I think I cried a few tears of REAL MUSIC BOREDOM

We may have Robyn in the top 100 next week, she's already #50 on iTunes.

Get that promo girl!

Bigger promotion than ANY performance she could have done. That they mentioned her name and Alesha declared I LOVE ROBYN, kinda sealed the deal for whatever chart position it ends up in this week.

I bet Cowell's heart sank after Dannii giving Rachel Hylton 'With Every Heartbeat'.

it's showing as #33 and #51 on my iTunes, but kworb always seems to be at least one update behind and is showing #50 and #75.

If the figures are similar, I think combined it's probably just inside the top 20 :disco:

Just watched the repeat on ITV2. What an utterly ridiculous pair of performances (including his sister before) or rather reactions from both judges and audience. No wonder even I can't stomach BGT. Still, #31 and #49, and I think that combines to #16, so I'm not complaining.

Can he do Be Mine! in the next round, please?

but it's EMOTIVE innit? :manson:

and such a natural style for someone from HULL

Its that horrible, affected, wanky straight boy singing again, which I detest. Ruined the song.

Why does his perceived sexuality matter?

And he made an interesting choice of pronouns.

I thought that. Scattered all over the shop.

Also I thought he was gay. I mean, he did a Robyn song. Although she does sometimes fall into acceptable gay music for straight men.

He also appears to be the lead sings in a Maroon 5 tribute act called Maroon 4.

i always thought she wasactually one of the few female pop stars (let alone swedish ones) that it's "ok" to like if you're str8. but thinking about it maybe i just have smart straight friends.

I'm not going to use the whole "straight boy singing" thing because I find it quite HASHTAG PROBLEMATIC, particularly given the blurring of the lines in a post-Sam Smith, boring singer-songwriter world. I think the term is as unnecessarily reductive as thinking "gay singing" is Freddie Mercury strutting around in a feather boa.

I normally wouldn't lower myself to indulging in BGT-related shite but I like that he went in there singing the original lyrics, even if he's not bent or whatever. It was a really original song choice and quite refreshing from the usual "hide the gay references unless it's Diva Fever" style of The X Factor.

Yeah, I know, I just found its use unusual. (if it helps I'm giving myself an internal :manson: for uniting both discussion of Britain's Got Talent and circuitous etymological debate into some sort of worst of the Internet highlights reel)

#27 and #49 now. Presumably the repeat has had an effect.

End heterophobia #whyineedmeninism

Don't worry, you'll always be my problematic fave, Mugatu.

#24 and #56 today. Slim chance of the top 75 is she hold back from falling too sharpish.

So the guy who did this on BGT last year (he went on to win I think); his version of it is #1 on Spotify Viral in the UK with her version of it, so it has every chance of crossing over to be a hit.
