oh shit

is there any point hoping it's not true?

No!! I'm no Star Wars fan, but always loved Carrie Fisher. Very funny, self depreciating woman.

I'm honestly starting to think that some higher heaven-like power is assembling all of the best people to a brave new world, to leave the rest of us to live on a planet that is becoming more hellish and unreal with every passing day.

Did 'Wishful Drinking' ever get broadcast in the UK? I was lucky enough to be in Seattle when she toured the US with it, and I think she brought it to London later. It was her one woman show that became her autobiography.

I'm fairly certain it's on the usual torrent sites, and it's well worth a watch if people haven't.

:( What a fucking legend she was. I recommend her book Wishful Drinking if you want to love her forever. And of course a rewatch of Postcards from the Edge is WELL DUE. Farewell Carrie.

Aww Carrie :( Never really loved Star Wars but she was such a character in real life.

It's really freaky because I'm in Los Angeles right now and I was supposed to meet her through a mutual friend like a week ago, but she was called in to hospital and it never happened. I think I did it :(

Wasn't she in Europe like a week ago?

I am so upset. I knew it was inevitable but had no idea how awful it would feel!

I'd arranged to suck George Michael off on Boxing Day :(

Literally arranging afternoon tea with Lulu.

I am so fucking sad about this.

The original Star Wars films were pretty much my ENTIRE CHILDHOOD, and obviously I love Leia in the gayest way, but my ADORATION for Carrie Fisher surpasses all that. She was so frank and funny, and an incredibly witty writer.

She drowned in moonlight, strangled by her own bra.

:D

I mean CUNTING Hell. I was never in any way bothered about Star Wars, but that bikini spoke for itself.

I'll remember her most fondly for the truly magnificent cameos in 30 Rock and Scream 3.

I'm kinda glad I don't really know much about her, because I don't think I could cope with 3 I really love dying in 3 days.

Wishful Drinking
