To repeat something Ag said the other day about the general response to our glittering saviours, I have rarely experienced such GIDDY EXCITEMENT as brought on by STEPS FRIDAY :disco:

And we've not even seen the ROUTINE OR VIDEO YET!

I came here to post pretty much exactly that, I don't think I've ever seen such unfiltered JOY on Moopy before. Give Lisa Scott-Lee a knighthood NOW.

He's in his 60s. He lives with his father.

We're three plays deep now.

Mr SHIRL says it's OK and let's face it he doesn't like MUCH but he says it might just be NOSTALGIA

Fucking Sheeran has closed the gap right back up in the UK , though...

Well, I thought they'd stay at #1 for about half an hour, so that's already surpassing expectations.
I hate Sheeran, but we have to be slightly realistic too.

#141 on Spotify. Not great but at least it's a start. Hopefully it's added to a few playlists.

I'm so elated. Not only is the song everything it should be (ABBA/Your Disco Needs You/Erasure/It's Raining Men/mostly importantly STEPS), but people are fucking buying it! Steps at #1 on iTunes in 2017 is so crazy but so good. I'd love to have seen the faces of the real music brigade when THAT happened! Such a fucking shame that it'll struggle to go top 20 by the end of the week, but even so a Top 40 hit for them is a massive triumph when you take into consideration the current state of affairs.

#3 now. 24 hours at the top though, and hopefully Saturday Night Takeaway gives it a boost/keeps it top five.

I'm convelling at the thought of what Lisa has up her ruffled sleeve to not only upstage her bandmates when it comes to a performance broadcast (whether they get Takeaway, Loose Women or even Denise Van Outen's Matalan.co.uk internet show), but to top her nervous breakdown with a fan - there's too much drama in the song, doing something that most people would find humiliating just to steal focus would be the icing on the cake.

I'm sure I read they're only performing Tragedy as part of a sing-a-long thing? Much more's the pity.

#3 on iTunes considering the 2 songs above it have huge streaming numbers probably won't make much of a difference really.

I've moved this back to 'Pop' - seemed the best place considering we don't have any individual artist forums now.

#4 now. Hopefully Saturday Night Takeaway will shore it up, because its numbers seem to be dropping pretty quickly.

They didn't perform it in the end, right? Just "Tragedy"? I presume that will help it, but it won't do THAT much. A bit of a wasted opportunity, I guess, which is a shame...

Nah, instead of Steps performing their new single, they wheeled out the Kaiser Chiefs to perform 'I Predict a Riot' instead. LOGICAL.

Why do I feel like I'm going to cry when I see the choreography
