Well that's what I was hoping for - if it automatically gets added to a top 40 playlist then surely that's a streaming boost?

In other news, isn't it ridiculous the charts can be manipulated in this way- get in the top 40, you get on a playlist, you might last another week.

#30 in todays update, only down 3. I'd say we have a top 40 hit as it's only today left so they shouldn't fall 11 spots in a day.

They've been added to quite a few playlists, which is positive. Let's hope it makes a difference - it's not going to send them top 10 but a few weeks in the top 75 would be nice.

Do you know, I'm seriously happy in the end. Ridiculous that a record that was the number one seller for a period during the week is that low, but that's a whole other matter.

Still, this bodes well for the album and YAYAYAYAYAYAYAY STEPS UP!

You know what, really, THIS. No one else has managed it of this era in recent times, have they? It really does feel like they've got some good momentum with this- ridiculous how we're trumpeting a #37 "hit"...
 
An amazing result. Two weeks ago the thought of Steps anywhere near the official top 100, let alone 40, would have been laughable

Just like it was unthinkable that they'd have a number one album in 2011. Queens of defying expectations :disco:

I'll bet Steps' stools are going to be as delighted with that as much as Gaga's monsters were when she got her superbowl hit.

I wonder what clubland cover Lisa has in store for her solo section on the tour. Beautiful People and her butterfly wings will be hard to top, not that I doubt her. A retitled cover of King (Queen, naturally) would be even more too LSL to function than she already is.

How does the Chart Show even work any more? It must be deathly at the moment. The last hour is basically the entire Ed Sheeran album.

Yes they did. And Greg Whatshisface even said it was good to have them back and read out three really positive, non piss-taking listener comments about how good it was/ how great it was to have them back etc.

That's better than I thought. Must have sold really quite strongly ( however briefly) at the start of the week then.

I mean obviously we know it was #1, but I thought it was so brief it may have even dipped out of the top ten on sales alone.

Do you mean sold or 'sold'? Either way, according to Robbie in the chart thread,

Sheeran's Shape Of You spends its 10th straight week at No.1 on sales of 106,286 copies (including 76,444 from streams)
 
And those 106k 'sales' will probably add about 150k to the 'sales total'.

Massive feat. Top 40 in the streaming era is brilliant.

It's gone up from 30 to 17 on iTunes again is well - I'm guessing just from the buzz of being top 40? Either way it's great to see - with the video and then album promo if it can float top 40 on sales for a bit would be ace.
 
I saw an ad for the tour on one of the free view channels earlier. Obviously I can see why they want to big up how many hits they had, but couldn't they at least have mentioned 'new single out now' on screen?
