Same at Nîmes rail station yesterday. A police investigation of a suspicious incident started being reported as a terrorist attack.

What sort of moronic terrorist attacks when the Queen isn't there? It's not hard to tell when she's around.

As much as relying on TV news or even news websites feels redundant at times like this now, I find twitter too noisy. And distressing.

Shame it hasn't stopped old manky teeth FARAGE already going on the news screaming how we are FULL TO THE RAFTERS with terrorists.

Not sure what to classify this as but a gunman has taken hostages at a bowling alley in Nuneaton of all places.

This makes me sound like a right ghoul, but I’m sure I can’t be the only one who’s somehow secretly disappointed when these things happen and they’re not on a particularly grand scale or as devastating as the last one. It’s like I’ve developed some insatiable thirst for increasingly abject horror whilst remaining absolutely sickened by what’s now become commonplace. It’s also quite alarming to realise how quickly I forget about things like that Vegas massacre, or maybe I just shut them away to be able to deal with it all

It's not just you at all. And the way the news is presented now almost encourages it.

Morbid curiosity. Disaster documentaries have the same effect on me.
