I am so curious as this beyond the book. It looks brilliant of course.

I found series 2 on my firestick so I've watched episodes 1 to 4. None of the links for episode 5 are working so I'm now three weeks in front and will have to wait until it's on telly. :angry:
 
I'm close to the end of rewatching the first series with ms ron, normally I'd switch off rewatching something but its just as good second time round. I missed the bit where Nick dropped off the ketamine to the Jezabelles first time.
 
Just about to watch episode 7 of series 2. This is fucking brilliant, but are they doing that half series annoying shit like on The Walking Dead?
 
I'm watching at UK pace so only three episodes into Season 2. I found the expanded stories intriguing, particularly the return to Ofglen/Emily's story in the second episode, in which I didn't even recognise Marisa Tomei until the end credits.

But the decision to just yank June back into Gilead reeks of wheel-spinning. I'll see how it plays out, but I'm sceptical.
 
I think thats justified. I didn't expect her to go, to be honest.
 
I never expected her to leave either, so I found myself wanting that part to be over quickly.

I was the same about the return to Gilead, but stick with it because it just gets more and more sinister.
 
I'm at US pace (or just behind) and episode 10 I would suggest is about as sinister, heartbreaking, desperate, horrific and just everything you want from this show to be, dialled up to the max. That it wasn't the last episode of the series was a bit of a surprise.

It really is a gift to Elisabeth Moss.
 
It's getting a bit too harrowing, like just at the edge of turning into misery porn. I haven't watched the latest episode yet but it better lead somewhere and not just another reset.

I'm also not a big fan of all the cameos of very well known names who come in for a few scenes like Marisa Tomei and Clea Duvall and apparently there's another big cameo in this week's episode that no one will shut up about.

It's still enjoyable with excellent acting but I want them to end it before they fuck up.
 
I thought Marisa was great, and I didn't even recognise her until the end credits so it didn't feel particularly stunt-casty.

Does Clea DuVall really count as a big name cameo? :D

I'm still watching at UK pace. We just had the episode that ended with the bombing.
 
Well she's recognizable enough that it's a bit distracting and the role is nothing. She barely utters a word.
 
oh I thought that was the season ending. interesting

I doubt the average joe would recognize the cameos even if you pointed them out. never heard those names before. but what a career boost it must be...
 
Oh that 10th episode was easily one of the most depressing things I’ve seen. It was too much, I just wanted it to go away.
 
I struggled to complete season one because emotionally it was wrecking me, but felt I ought to because of the importance of the book. I lasted about two minutes of season two before deciding I wasn't going to subject myself to it any more.
 
(SPOILER: US PACE) Nothing happened in the last episode no? Well she gave birth, and there was a brief flurry of excitement when Serena and Fred argued, but it was mostly Elisabeth Moss looking conspicuously overwhelmed, moseying around a lovely house, and sporadically, but not critically, bleeding from her fanny.

It's still a very good (specifically cinematically) show, but does anyone at Hulu really believe anyone wants to sit through this show for another 8 years? I love passive aggression as much as the next gay, but I really can't imagine being 37 in the year 2026 and feeling any joy watching June telling Serena her tea is over stewed.

This weeks (US pace) episode went RIGHT OFF after last weeks being a bit meh. I knew it would end that way though.

However that end promises it's going to the be some similar shit all over again next season. And I'm telling you right now, I'm not watching 8 more seasons of this :evil:
 
They didn’t even have the balls to kill Lydia. The whole thing felt like stalling. Also fuck that ending, that’s the third time she doesn’t run away.

Pretty much what Ms Ron said but I'd imagine S3 will be her going back for the other kid and hopefully getting out. Surely everyone's learnt a lesson from Walking Dead?
