I knew quitting uni was the right thing to do :disco:

I will probably feel miserable a week in though

Mr M is going to London for a whole week. SLAG. I want to go too

It's one of these odd things - I was very quick to learn to read and speak but when it came to trying to learn any other language, I was an outright flop. I persevered with French but I needed a tutor to get through that. I never managed to learn to write music either.

Morning moopy. I've been watching Westlife on the NTAs on repeat :horny:

Also they have finally released the acts for Isle of Wight Festival. Mandy is not impressed.

I’d give anything to be back at Uni... are you sure you’re doing the right thing @Mats :side-eye:

I think I might leave that page open in a prominent position all day :D

I was hoping THIS article would stay on the front page of the Guardian website so SOMEONE might read it NOT THAT THEY WOULD HAVE THE SELF-INSIGHT TO RECOGNISE THEMSELVES. I didn't write in with this one but GOD KNOWS I COULD HAVE

https://www.theguardian.com/lifeand...dy-know-all-rewrites-my-work-what-should-i-do
I have to say that woman sort of comes over as the baddie here. If she is starting a sentence with 'but' even after having been through the Guardian's copy editing process then I think my sympathy is with her colleague.

The answer to the quandary, as is often the case in office-based dilemmas, is of course KILL HIM AND BLAME SOMEONE ELSE

In entirely unrelated news, I’ve just had a quote for doing my bathroom up which is about £2500 cheaper than the first quote I had by a family run business who have 9.9/10 with 150 reviews on checkatrade and having googled their son who came to visit me and runs his own separate flooring business, has even more positive reviews on his own business site.

What am I missing?

If the higher quote was from a bigger company they might be VAT registered and the cheaper one isn't. Shouldn't be £2500 different though just for that.

Maybe the bigger company are planning on doing a really shoddy job.

Well, yes, that is definitely true. But this place only has GLOWING reviews everywhere I look, so I cannot for the life of me understand why it's that much cheaper. Maybe they were whacking on a "Third Floor, No Lift" charge without telling me...

Still, NEW BATHROOM :disco:

MAYBE THEY JUST LOVED YOU DARL

I did get all excited this morning and popped on my best short shorts and was all "just back from the gym, but strangely freshly showered" for the fitter after he sounded hot on the phone, so I was a little disappointed when he turned out to be a rather overweight, pasty faced YOUTH with severe acne...

definitely. didn't need another paper to wipe my ass with, and the bar has been lowered so much it's practically an extension of public school!

@Sheena what are you having done and did they say how long it would take to do?

We're thinking of getting ours redone but it depends how long it takes.

I’d love a brand new bathroom, I did put new flooring in and a shower last year but I hate the wall tiles which are floor to ceiling.

One day!

Are you offering for @Mats to be a kept man?!

sorry, but
